Carp's January in 2016

      Today, Jia-yi and I went to a hot pot restaurant.  The restaurant was near Jia-yi’s school, and the restaurant was called “Fu-Yuan.”  The hot pots there were delicious.  There were many people in the restaurant on the holiday, and we had to wait for a long time.  However, the meals were not expensive, and the amount was huge.  Besides, we could order extra rice and take a lot of sauce for free!

      After that, we also went to another restaurant—“Tai Jon Hot Pot.”  The soup in the second restaurant was so clear that we drank a lot of soup.  The dishes there were great, but they were more expensive.  However, we could order extra drink and ice cream for free!  Today, Jia-yi and I ate a lot and felt very full.  What a happy and satisfactory holiday!

        Today is January 8.  I celebrated Christmas with Ariel and her friends.  This was a belated Christmas dinner celebration.  Originally, we wanted to celebrate Christmas Day on December 25, but there were too many things that caused this delay.

This was the second Christmas that Ariel and her friends celebrated together.  But this year, the celebration was special because of me, Carp, a friend from Japan joining them!  We ate spicy hot pot in the Xin Temple restaurant.  It was located near the Songjiang Nanjing MRT station, Taipei.  It was a famous restaurant.  I thought this restaurant was very good.  For us, Christmas was a day full of gratitude.  We usually helped each other and encouraged each other.  Christmas was the best time to express gratitude.  I hope that after Christmas, we can celebrate together every year!

      Today, I studied with Jane after school because she had a big exam this Friday.  After the study, I went home with Jane.  I met her mother, and she is beautiful and kind.  We ate dinner together.  The dinner was delicious, and I was very grateful for their hospitality.  After dinner, I sat on the couch, and Jane started to do a report at the computer desk.  Jane paid attention to her report, and I didn’t want to interfere with her report.  I noticed that she was very serious.  After she finished her report, she got so tired that we took a break.  I hoped that Jane would get great good grades on the final exams!

      Today is a rainy day.  It’s raining very heavily.  Mei-yi went to work in the morning, so I stayed at home and watched TV.  I spent a boring morning on my own.  In the afternoon, Mei-yi came home from work.  She looked tired.  After her shower, she felt that I should took a bath because I looked as if I hadn't taken a bath for a month.  I agreed with her, so I decided to clean myself in a hot bath.  No doubt, I looked better and cleaner than before.

      On Saturday, Denny, his friend and I went to Keelung and saw a temple where there were many stairs nearby.  We counted the stairs, and I took a photo with Denny on the thirty-second stairs.  Counting the stairs made me very tired, but I felt very happy because I could stay with my friend and played with him.  Denny also took a cool pose with me in the photo.  I thanked Denny for inviting me to the temple, and this made me a happy day.  I thought I would never forget today, and wished I will have another chance to hang out with Denny again.

January 2, 2016 with class 503

I’ve been her in Taiwan for a few months. At the end of December, I gained some experiences from several festivals in Taiwan. For instance, December twenty-second is Winter solstice, the longest night of the year. I ate a bowl of sticky rice ball soup.  Some of the rice balls had black sesame filling.  I love the food because it is very chewy and yummy. December twenty-fifth is Christmas day.  On that day, we exchanged gifts.  Everyplace is full of Christmas atmosphere. There are many Christmas trees and poinsettia. School also held a series of activityies; for example, singing, dancing and wind band performances. It’s a joyful festival! New Year's Eve is coming, which is the final day of the year. I found many people watch or let off fireworks with their friends. As time passed by, I followed everyone to  count down……five, four, three, two, and one. I have a New Year resolution: I hope I can make many friends in Taiwan.

        

January 5, 2016 with class 503

        The temperature in Taiwan is higher than that in Japan.  However, I feel it’s colder.  Maybe it’s because it rains a lot here, which makes me feel it’s colder than in Hiroshima, my hometown. 

        Today, I know a new cuisine---hot grass jelly, which is also one of the famous snacks in Taiwan.  People here make jelly out of a kind of Mesona grass.   They boil it for hours and then add a little cornstarch into the soup, which then becomes black grass jelly after cooling down.   It’s good for health.  If it’s eaten in summer, it can prevent heat stroke. 

        In the winter, people here like to eat “hot grass jelly.”   They like to add red beans, green beans, peanuts, tapiocas, etc.  It’s delicious and it makes me feel warm.

Today, my best friend Jay and his friends took me to the Sanchong city park to watch a marathon.  It was a pity that I could not run, but Jay took me to many places and we took a lot of pictures.  If I went running, I would have joined this Christmas marathon to celebrate this wonderful festival.

At night, Jay and I took the MRT to the San-ho night market.  I never went to the night market, so I could not wait to enjoy Taiwanese foods there.  There were many delicious foods, and we ate a lot.  When we went home, I was very full because the foods in the night market were super yummy!  Today, I was very happy that Jay took me to Sanchong.  I will go there again to eat special Taiwanese foods.  If I have a chance, I will try to run the marathon, too.  Wait for me!

On Sunday, I went to participate in the Christmas running event with some students from Class 506.  Before the event, we went to dine at a sukiyaki restaurant.  In the restaurant, we could order extra dishes and meat without limit, and we were offered desserts after our meal—very delicious!  We ate in a rush.  After our meal, we only had half an hour left before the running event.  So, we took a taxi to the event location.

      In the running event, two classmates and I acted as cheering members.  We saw thousands of people in red running around a big park, and that was very magnificent!   In the park, we also found many signs which prayed for peace and happiness.  We hope that everyone will be safe and blessed in the future!

     Hello everyone.  Sean took me out again.  I was very nervous because today we were going to race with more than five thousand people.  The main purpose of this game was to help migraine rural children.  When we arrived in Taipei, we ate the lunch first.  We ate slowly, so we were late.  But we still took part in the game.  In the race, I felt very cool and refreshed because the weather was cold.  We took a picture in the end of the race.  Although I was so tried, it was a nice day.

     Today, I went to Taipei with Vivian.  First, we went to have lunch at the Ben-fan restaurant.  It's an all-you -can-eat restaurant.  I felt very full after we had the meal.  Next, we went for a marathon at Sanchong.  We ran eight kilometers. Although it made me very tired, I still felt so happy.  It was my first time to run a marathon.  After the race, we took many pictures there.  There were many beautiful things along the marathon route.  After the marathon, we went to a department store to buy some bread.  The bread was delicious, and I like it very much!  By the way, today was Christmas, so I took a picture with a tall Christmas tree.  It's so bright!  I enjoyed this trip in Taipei.  If I have more opportunities, I will visit Taiwan again!!

     On Saturday, I went to Keelung with Peter, and we went to a place near the sea by bus. On the bus, Peter was playing his smartphone while I was watching the scenery outside a bus window. After getting off the bus, we went bird watching together. Peter tried to find “Black Kite” eagles, but we had a bad luck. We didn't see any eagles and felt depressed. Then, we went back home, and Peter surfed the Internet to look for some information about this kind of eagles. Although we didn't see the eagles today, we found some data about the eagles. Hope Peter and I are able to see the eagles during our bird watching next time.

     Today, Kano, his friends and I went to Keelung. We had a good time in Keelung.  First of all, we strolled in the area of the Keelung temple.  We hanged around and ate yummy foods there.  Second, we went to a hypermarket and bought some things.  At last, Kano and I went shopping in a pants store because Kano didn’t have many pants.  We were very happy and contented this weekend.

      Today, Vivian and I listened to music at home.  The headphones I wore were too big, but that didn’t matter.  I was so happy that I could appreciate music with Vivian.  We listened to a lot of songs, such as One Direction's “Drag Me Down,” “What Makes You Beautiful,” “Best Song Ever” and so on.  I thought I was lucky to have a pretty girl listen to music with me.  Sometimes, one simple thing could bring happiness to life.  And I felt warmth from my friend Vivian.  This was what we did at Vivian’s home.

     Christmas is coming and it stands for Jesus’ coming to this world.  Last Sunday, my cute master took me to the church of Jinshan.  She taught me how to pray to God.  She said that if I was in trouble, I could tell God what had happened to me.  God could solve my problem when he listened to my genuine prayer.  No matter how bad the things were, you could pray to God.  You even thanked God for what he granted me in many things.  I liked Christmas.  Although the weather was so cold, the atmosphere was very warm.  Many families ate turkeys and got together near the stove at that time.

In the morning, Han-lin gave me a lot of candy and cookies because Christmas was coming.  Although Christmas has not yet to come, it was full of the joy of Christmas atmosphere.  In the evening when we got to Han-lin’s home, we saw Christmas candles, cakes, cards, little toys, biscuits and so on.  A Christmas tree was placed at the comer of the brilliant hall.  How beautiful it was!  I was impressed by these. Han-lin prepared different kinds of gifts for their family and guests.  We had a big meal.  After dinner, they told me some interesting stories about Christmas.  I learned that Christmas had something to do with God.  I benefited a lot from this experience.  This Christmas was really unforgettable.  Not only did I have a good time, but also I knew something about foreign culture.

     It was very cold and rainy these days.  I went to Keelung for fun with my friend, Zhen-jan.  The weather on that day was not bad.  The sun seemed to say “Good morning” to us.  We not only visited half of Keelung, but also went to Houtong Cat Village.  Before we went to the cat village, we dined at KFC.  I ate my lunch at KFC because I could eat good lunch with my friend together there.  After lunch, we went to Houtong Cat Village.  There were many cute cats, and I felt very excited about seeing so many cats.  The cats there have different colors of fur, such as white, black, yellow, and gray.  I was happy there, and I looked forward to our next trip.

After Christmas, Lucifer, Denny, Kano, Sean, Peter, Kevin and I went to Keelung.  They went there as a group, and I joined their Keelung tour.  It is of great significance to them, and it is also a symbol of firm friendship among them.  We went to eat at KFC at noon.  Although an incident happened in the process of deciding on a restaurant (either a fast food one or a steak house), we finally chose to eat in a fast food restaurant.  We ate a lot and felt full.  In the evening, I went to Lucifer’s home.  Lucifer and I took a lot of selfies.  I thought Lucifer looked great on the photos.  Although it was a tiring day, it was full of fun.

Today was New Year’s Eve.  I spent my entire night greeting the coming New Year with my friends and Ru-huei.  New Year’s Eve is a reunion that I am able to talk about past time with lots of my friends.  It was difficult to make an appointment with my friends because all of my friends now study in different schools.  Therefore, we didn’t have much time to go out together.  We promised to each other that we would welcome the coming New Year together this New Year’s Eve.  But it was a pity that some friends needed to work at that time.  So, they could not come with us.  Despite that, I believed our hearts linked to one another!  Today was really an unforgettable day.  I really spent an unforgettable moment with my friends in Taiwan!

 

2015-11-27 with class 503

Today Yencih and Angel brought me to the computer classroom in senior high school.  It was computer class and this classroom seems to belong to class 510 because the school wants to give them a nice place to study and to operate computers on their own.   I focused on what was taught in class but I fell asleep by accident.  When I woke up, it was break time.   Everyone’s monitors are different.  I asked the classmate sitting next to me what the teacher just said.  So, I knew that  the teacher taught us about CPU.  Although I fell asleep, I asked the teacher about the lesson after the class.  I hope that I can study with class 510 next time!

It was about time to have lunch.  Angel, Yencih and I went to the school kitchen to take lunch so as to let our classmates enjoy the meal.  Angel told us that she’s a vegetarian.  Yencih eats meats besides vegetarian dishes.  Although meats are my favorite, vegetarian food looks delicious, too!

        We also talked about our habits, favorite foods, etc.   Angel loves singing and cheese cakes.  Yencih likes to exercise and candy is her favorite.  After having our lunches, we wished each other a nice dream before we took a nap.  As the bell rang, I woke up and I felt a lot more energetic.  Because Angel was preparing for the song for the singing contest in the afternoon, I practiced with her.  What a wonderful day!
