      Ya-chun and I ate some fine shaved ice, made from a local food, at the Jinshan old street today.  The shopowner used the local yams and caramel to make such fine shaved ice.  When we ate the shaved ice, it seemed that we were eating yams.  We even tasted the fiber of yams!  How special such shaved ice was to me!

        It was my first time to hike with Jia-yi in the Lion-head mountain.  While going hiking, we saw many tourists hiking, too!  During the break, I took some photos, and I found the scenary in Jinshan was so beautiful!  After our hiking, we played water at the Huang-gang Harbor.  What a wonderful trip today!

        I went to a restaurant with Yi-han near her school.  The restaurant was called “Lion King.”  While ordering foods, I hesitated for a long time because every food on the menu looked so delicious.  It was hard for me to decide what to eat.  After the meal, I was satisfied because the food was yummy and the environment was comfortable.  If I have another opportunity, I’d like to eat there once and want to visit more places and know various culture in Taiwan!

        Today I went to Sanzhi with Jay, and Jay’s home is there.  First, I went to the Sanzhi elemetary school to prove I came here.  After that, Jay took me to a famous temple, Fu-Chen Temple, in Sanzhi.  In the temple, many statues were beautiful and I seldom went to a spot like this.  So, I let Jay take a picture for me to remember this moment.

Besides, I was so excited to go to Jay’s house, so I ran on streets and it was fun.  After I took a bath at Jay’s home, his mom cooked delicious chicken curry for us.  I was very full after eating it.  Then, I went to Jay’s bedroom to read a book, but I was so tired that I only read a few pages.  Jay thought I was tired, so he took me to bed.  I felt so comfortable because I went to many spots today and seldom took a rest.  However, I felt happy and satisfied at Jay’s home.  If I have a lot of chances to do such things, I will come to Taiwan again.  Wait for me!

Vivian took me to meet a new friend today, and its name was called “Little Blue.“  I played a lot with it.  I was too tired to play with my new friend, so I lay on the bed to take a rest.

Suddenly, I saw Vivian take out a new cellphone--HTC M8.  I was so excited because I did not have a cellphone!  The cellphone was new and special to me.  Vivian told me that the color of the cellphone was special to her, and I knew that the cellphone was given by her mother!  OMG!!  How I wish I could get a gift like this!   I was excited, so I let Vivian take a picture for me to beg my mother to buy a similar  cellphone for me.  I was very happy because I made a new friend.  I wish I have more chances to play wit my new friend!

Gemma, her friend and I went to a newly-opened café today.  It’s called “SF Coffee.”  It was really comfortable and quiet!  It’s also a good place where people can relax and have delicious meals.  I am a doll, so I only sat there and saw my friends eating.  Gemma showed me a new album—an album of a Korean pop team “SHINee.”  Just like what Gemma said, SHINee were very cute and handsome!  Their songs were also very great!

July 19 (By Vivian Lin, Group 7)

 Today I went to Keelung with Vivian.  First, we went to see a very irritative  movie “Ant Man.”  The actor in the movie could become bigger or smaller in one second--that's very cool!  I liked this movie so much because I wished to be a super hero like him.  We watched the earliest movie today because the morning movie was cheaper than other periods.  Thanks for this, we could save money and spent more time to visit another place.

 

At noon, we ate lunch at the Eight-way fried dumpling restaurant.  I ate some fried dumplings and drank a cup of soymilk.  They were very delicious.  I was very full after eating lunch.  After lunch, I went to Vivian’s cram school.  I tried to write some math questions, but l found that was too difficult to me.  I thought I had to study harder to improve my math.

Finally, Vivian and I went to UNIQLO and MUJI.  I wanted to visit these places because they were from Japan.  There were a lot of special clothes in UNIQLO.  They were not only beautiful, but also practical.  In MUJI, there were many different kinds of pens.  The notebooks there were green because they all used recycled paper.  That was a good way to protect our Earth.  l felt satisfied and happy today, and I experienced many different things in Taiwan.  I hoped I could have more chances to visit Taiwan--that would be very wonderful!

        Today I went shopping in Keelung.  I was not familiar with Keelung, but it was a special place to me.  The place where Sean took me today was familiar to me!  The place was MUJI, which is also a retail store in Japan!  This store sells many kinds of household products.  Sean bought some pens at the MUJI store, and the pens cost him a lot of money.

June 23 (By Nick Shen, Group 3)

     Nick and I went to a temple in San-chih today.  There was a show of the dragon and lion dance there.  There were also many vendors, and we ate a lot of Taiwanese snacks.  We went to a temple, praying for safety and peace.  We felt very happy and full.  I thanked Nick for showing me around and taking me to experience the temple culture in Taiwan!

June 24 (By Allan Chen, Group 3)

     I spent a nice day with Allan at school today.  We played volleyball with everyone after school.  They played volleyball so well in the volleyball court.  When leaving school, we went to eat snowflake ice—what the best thing it is!  I was really happy with Allan in the free time today.

        Today I went to Sanchih bookstore with Cliff because he has exams these days.  We bought some stationery—a red pen, a blue pen, and a black pen.  He is ready for the final exams.  After we get back home, Cliff and I study English and math.  We study together and make preparations for the final exams.  Good luck to Cliff!

June 26 (By Shuo-ge, Group 5)

Today I went to Tamsui to meet a new friend.  His name is “Super Handsome Shuo-ge.”  In Tamsui, Shuo-ge and I saw a beautiful river, and we enjoyed many happy moments on the old streets.  We stayed there till 9 pm, and the streets were still very crowded!  Shuo-ge and I spent a pleasant time in Tamsui, and I wish to visit there again.

June 27 (By Yu-zhen, Group 4)

        Today I went to the Jinshan night market with Yu-zhen.  At dinner, we ate rice noodles at the first stand in the night market, and the rice noodles were delicious!  Besides, we also ate seafood thick soup and stew ribs with herbs.  These two dishes were very popular.  The Jinshan night market only opens on Tuesday and Saturday evenings.  We went to the night market on Saturday evening, so it was more crowded than on Tuesday evening.

June 28 (By Ru-huei, Group 4)

I went to the Lion’s Head Park with Ru-huei in Jinshan today.  Ru-huei’s PE teacher often takes her classmates to jog in the park.  Although it is tiring and hot, it is a great experience to watch the beautiful sea view from the park.  It is fabulous that Taiwan is surrounded by seas.

June 17 (By Han-lin & Pei-ying, Group 1)

Today is June 17th, and I woke up at four o'clock in the morning.  When l look out the window and saw a wonderful sunrise, I felt very satisfied and was full of happiness.  After that, Han-lin and Pei-ying took me to the beach, and we ate delicious breakfast in Jinshan.  At the beach, I saw plenty of fish, crabs and seaweed which was washed up on the shore.  And then, Han-lin and Pei-ying took me to Tamsui Old Streets to eat our dinner, “Ah Gei.”  It's a deep fried tofu.  It is stuffed with crystal noodles and sealed with surimi.  The texture of the tofu is soft inside.  The crystal noodles inside are very smooth, tender and tasty.  We ate “ah gei” with some savory, spicy sauce.  The sauce tasted sweet.  If you come here, “ah gei” is a must-try in Tamsui!  Today is a wonderful day!  I think I will never forget these wonderful memories.

Today is June 19th.  It's an extended holiday thanks to the Dragon Boat Festival. The weather was so hot.  So I went to a store selling shaved ice with Mei-Yi, Shu-Yue, Shu-Yue's sister, and a friend.  We ordered the milk-flavored and the chocolate-flavored shaved ice.  The shaved ice tasted yummy and kept us from summer heat.  After that, we visited the famous old street in Jinshan.  The old street was filled with hundreds of tourists.  So, I was afraid that I might be separated from my friends.  The Jinshan old street is famous for delicious duck meat in a restaurant.  Many tourists come to Jinshan for the well-known duck meat.  In the late evening, we went to McDonald's and took a break there.  What a beautiful day it is!

June 20 (By Kano Lai, Group 2)

Today I went to a movie “Jurassic World” with Kano, Shi-xian, Yi-zong in Keelung.  Originally, we four people wanted to take a picture with the billboard of “Jurassic Park.”  But it was a pity that we couldn’t find one in the movie theater.  So, we chose to take a picture with the billboard of another popular movie “Insidious 3.”  Kano, Shi-xian and Yi-zong were so shy that only I took a photo with the billboard.  In my opinion, if there is a sequel to “Jurassic World,” I will go watching it because this movie is exciting and full of surprises.  I am looking forward to watching “Jurassic World 2” together with my three good friends!

It is fun to travel in Taiwan!  After the 3-day trip with four Taiwanese girls, now it is time for me to travel in Taiwan with three Taiwanese boys.

Today I went to a special restaurant with Yi-zong, Shi-xian and Kano.  The restaurant is called “Sharks Bite Toast.”  The store name is very special, let alone its foods.  I ordered a dish—smoked chicken with cheese, and it was super delicious!

There are many interesting places in Taiwan.  I hope I am able to visit the restaurant again.  And I’d like to share the fun things with my Japanese friends!

After the reception, I went to class 406.  The students and the teacher were excited to have me in the class.  Here are the photos.

We had a reception for Carp during the lunch break on June 16.   The two students visiting Japan shared their reflection of the 5-day trip.  It really became their unforgetable memory and important life experience. Then, two girls introduced the Teddy Bear porject that our  students would be hosting Carp.

Day 2 with Vicky

Today, I went to Miaoli with Vicky. And we went home by train. Vicky was reading Chinese while I was sleeping. And after getting off the train, we played badminton together. Vicky practiced badminton for the competition this Saturday. Hope she can get championship! And then we had a great dinner, which was cooked by Vicky’s father. It is a special food -- curry. I was really excited about this superb food. We ate, and then we studied. I accompanied Vicky when she was writing Studio Notes. She listened to the program attentively and I fell asleep. Today I got many experiences and entertainments. It was an impressive night. Hope I can go to Vicky’s Home next time~’
