July 28th

               Looking for a pair of legs

Today, Coco, Eva and Lulu took me all over the school campus to  help me look for my 'legs". First, they found two mops for me. Those were my first legs. Not only were they ugly but also stupid. Then, we met a beautiful lady. She gave me a pair of legs which were made by branches, but I don't like them.  Afterwards, I found a stone skirt. I tried it on and I looked like a princess! I wanted to carry it away but it was too heavy to take.  Then, Lulu find a long leg for me. It  was a slender yellow hose. I think I looked like a snake.  That's not funny.   Finally, Coco found a pair of legs at the basketball court.  They fitted me very well. They are the best legs that I have ever had!

July 29th
In the Music Classroom

    My hostess, Coco, Eva and Lulu took me to the practice room when the class was over.   There were many musical instruments here.  After entering this room, my three hostess began to play their instruments.  Coco played the flute, Lulu played the clarinet and Eva played the baritone.  Although they have  learned how to play these musical instruments for only one year, they played them very well. 

Then, I borrowed a pair of sticks from other students because I wanted to practice with them.   I became one-day-drum-player and beat the drum with them.   I enjoyed it very much because it was new to me!  Hopefully, I would have another chance to practice with them.  

July 30th 

During the baking lesson

Today, I went to the baking classroom with Lulu.  I was looking forwards to making cakes because it was another new experience for me.   For start, the teacher showed us how to make a cake.   Although it seemed easy for the teacher, we spent lots of time and energy trying to make it.  For the final touch, we decorated it with chocolate.  I drew a  picture on one of the cakes.  Although it looked strange, I felt very satisfied because I could make a cake by myself.

Gifts from Japan

The following are the gifts from our friend from 河內.      I think his act really shows that the Japanese are a courteous people.   They are so thoughtful!  When I got the gifts, I was surprised.  That's  because all I did was write e-mail .  I mean I just did the basic work to let him know what we would do.  It's surely nice of him to give us the gifts.  I like them very much.  But I need to check out what he wrote on the card.   It probably says why he gave these gifts and they are the famous items in  his place.  Anyway, thanks! 

The following is the English translation of what is written on the card:

Imabari-city in Ehime-prefecture which is next to Hiroshima-prefecture is famous as a producing center of a towel excellent in quality. I present a handkerchief made in imabari and Japanese tea ( made in Imabari). 

Carp Week 7

Tuesday, July 28, 2015 

Today is a big day for me.   One is because I'm going to class 501, the music class; the other is that my principal from 河內 comes here with one teacher and two students and they will stay until Aug. 3.  They will join class 503 with some of classes and experience some special lessons, such as computer and baking ones.   They will have sightseeing as well.   They will go to 九份 Gold Museum and Taidun.   I hope I will have a chance to go there some day.

After taking a look at the blog, they knew that I had a very good time at Jinshan high school.  I traveled a lot and ate their local food.   They knew I have been taking good care.   They are thankful for teachers and students here.




As for class 501, I'm looking forward to being with them.  I believe I will enjoy it.

 河內.   He promised that his students will also take good care of him.   I think A-Fu can't wait to go to Japan.

      Ya-chun and I ate some fine shaved ice, made from a local food, at the Jinshan old street today.  The shopowner used the local yams and caramel to make such fine shaved ice.  When we ate the shaved ice, it seemed that we were eating yams.  We even tasted the fiber of yams!  How special such shaved ice was to me!

July 22 (By Jia-yi Chen, Group 8)

        It was my first time to hike with Jia-yi in the Lion-head mountain.  While going hiking, we saw many tourists hiking, too!  During the break, I took some photos, and I found the scenary in Jinshan was so beautiful!  After our hiking, we played water at the Huang-gang Harbor.  What a wonderful trip today!

        I went to a restaurant with Yi-han near her school.  The restaurant was called “Lion King.”  While ordering foods, I hesitated for a long time because every food on the menu looked so delicious.  It was hard for me to decide what to eat.  After the meal, I was satisfied because the food was yummy and the environment was comfortable.  If I have another opportunity, I’d like to eat there once and want to visit more places and know various culture in Taiwan!

July 13, 2015 (By Jay Ma, Group 7)

        Today I went to Sanzhi with Jay, and Jay’s home is there.  First, I went to the Sanzhi elemetary school to prove I came here.  After that, Jay took me to a famous temple, Fu-Chen Temple, in Sanzhi.  In the temple, many statues were beautiful and I seldom went to a spot like this.  So, I let Jay take a picture for me to remember this moment.

Besides, I was so excited to go to Jay’s house, so I ran on streets and it was fun.  After I took a bath at Jay’s home, his mom cooked delicious chicken curry for us.  I was very full after eating it.  Then, I went to Jay’s bedroom to read a book, but I was so tired that I only read a few pages.  Jay thought I was tired, so he took me to bed.  I felt so comfortable because I went to many spots today and seldom took a rest.  However, I felt happy and satisfied at Jay’s home.  If I have a lot of chances to do such things, I will come to Taiwan again.  Wait for me!

Vivian took me to meet a new friend today, and its name was called “Little Blue.“  I played a lot with it.  I was too tired to play with my new friend, so I lay on the bed to take a rest.

Suddenly, I saw Vivian take out a new cellphone--HTC M8.  I was so excited because I did not have a cellphone!  The cellphone was new and special to me.  Vivian told me that the color of the cellphone was special to her, and I knew that the cellphone was given by her mother!  OMG!!  How I wish I could get a gift like this!   I was excited, so I let Vivian take a picture for me to beg my mother to buy a similar  cellphone for me.  I was very happy because I made a new friend.  I wish I have more chances to play wit my new friend!

July 15 (By Gemma Lai, Group 7)

Gemma, her friend and I went to a newly-opened café today.  It’s called “SF Coffee.”  It was really comfortable and quiet!  It’s also a good place where people can relax and have delicious meals.  I am a doll, so I only sat there and saw my friends eating.  Gemma showed me a new album—an album of a Korean pop team “SHINee.”  Just like what Gemma said, SHINee were very cute and handsome!  Their songs were also very great!

July 19 (By Vivian Lin, Group 7)

 Today I went to Keelung with Vivian.  First, we went to see a very irritative  movie “Ant Man.”  The actor in the movie could become bigger or smaller in one second--that's very cool!  I liked this movie so much because I wished to be a super hero like him.  We watched the earliest movie today because the morning movie was cheaper than other periods.  Thanks for this, we could save money and spent more time to visit another place.

 

At noon, we ate lunch at the Eight-way fried dumpling restaurant.  I ate some fried dumplings and drank a cup of soymilk.  They were very delicious.  I was very full after eating lunch.  After lunch, I went to Vivian’s cram school.  I tried to write some math questions, but l found that was too difficult to me.  I thought I had to study harder to improve my math.

Finally, Vivian and I went to UNIQLO and MUJI.  I wanted to visit these places because they were from Japan.  There were a lot of special clothes in UNIQLO.  They were not only beautiful, but also practical.  In MUJI, there were many different kinds of pens.  The notebooks there were green because they all used recycled paper.  That was a good way to protect our Earth.  l felt satisfied and happy today, and I experienced many different things in Taiwan.  I hoped I could have more chances to visit Taiwan--that would be very wonderful!

Last Saturday, Ming-zhen and I worked as volunteers in a triathlon.  The weather was very hot, and we worked and stood under the sun for six hours.  Although we felt exhausted, our tiredness disappeared soon when we heard the triathlon players saying “Thank you” to us!

       June 30 (By Peter Chen　Group 5)

Today, Peter and I went to his home in Yeliu by bus.  On our way, Peter was reading English while I was sleeping.  After getting off the bus, we played basketball together.  Peter practiced basketball for the competition in August.  I wish he can get the championship!  Then, we had a great lunch, which was cooked by Peter’s grandmother.  The foods were the yummiest and the best during my trip in Taiwan so far.  I felt satisfied and thankful for his grandmother’s treat!  We ate, and then we studied.  I accompanied Peter while he was taking notes for a studio program.  He listened to the program attentively while I fell asleep.  Today, I had many special experiences for entertainment.  It was an impressive day to me.  Hope I can go to Peter’s home again

July 1 (By Xu-ting　Group 6)

 I went to a basketball court with Xu-ting in San-chih today.  The court was new, and many people there played basketball well.  We also played basketball there, and it was really fun and exciting!  The weather in San-chih was hot.  I found that the weather in Japan was cooler than the one in Taiwan.  I felt hot while playing basketball.  After the game, I drank iced water and felt more comfortable.  Besides, I felt comfortable while breeze was blowing in my face.  Today was a happy day to me!

July 3 (By Shou-zheng　Group 5)

       

  I went to Shou-zheng's home and visited him today.  Shou-zheng and I went playing basketball in a basketball court in the Jinshan senior high school.  His basletball skill was not good, so I beat him again and again.  Every time I won him by a wide margin.  He was heavy, but he moved fast.  While playing basketball, he stole balls swiftly.  I was very happy today because I made a good friend!

July 7 (By Wei-zhe　Group 6)

        I went to beach with Wei-zhe for fun today, and he wanted to find a part-time job.  Although Wei-zhe has not found a part-time job, I believe he will soon.
        When we went to beach, the wind was strong and the waves were big.  There was some rain, so we just played with sands and water on the seashore.  Another reason was that we could not swim.  While we were playing with sands, suddenly it rained a lot.  So, we went back home right away.  Although we got wet, we felt happy that we played with water on a hot summer day!
